As posted previously, the TGV is the French high-speed train. There is a large network of line sthat operate not only in France but also under the English Channel in the Chunnel. Below is a map of the rail network for the the TGV in France, plus a video with the fastest recorded time done by a train. This is not normal for the TGV let alone any train, and this is a specially done tests by the French rail authority called SNCF.
